The Out of Silence Choir is very grateful to the Peter and Gwynneth Hodgkinson Trust , for a grant of £1000 towards ‘bringing music to new audiences’.
This grant was used to stage a concert at Spilsby Theatre, a lovely, lively venue new to the choir. This generous grant also made possible the inclusion of a singing workshop in the afternoon, which 40 people thoroughly enjoyed.
The concert was a sell-out and received rave reviews. The audience seemed to have particularly enjoyed the intensity and brilliance of the Out of Silence choir interspersed with songs from the larger grouping of the joyful Choir Invisible. (Out of Silence singers also sing as part of the Choir Invisible, which was runner-up in the final of the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year Competition, in November 2006)
